DAY 5 - 11/24/18 Last day of the trip. Woke up and had brunch at The Good Fork . Now I have been here before, we had dinner here during my first NYC trip. Also, we usually hit up  Fort Defiance on the day I leave because they have the best french toast in town. But we decided to try something different and my taste buds were not disappointed. I recommend the Breakfast Sandwich, and it was paired with a Blood Orange Margarita that was sinfully good. Next up on my to do list, was the second must-do item on my list. We hit up the MC Escher exhibit in Industrial City. It's one of those fabulous exhibits that consists of a lot of items, but it doesn't take too long to go through. We were there for a little over and hour and it's high on my recommendation list. (Kai sent me this while I was there, and I died) We went back to Red Hook and picked up Krisanne and then hit up quite possibly my new favorite place on the planet, SHIPWRECKED !  (look at this...

DAY THREE - THANKSGIVING This was the chillest day out of my entire trip. We woke up in time to watch the parade and started making dinner. My brother and his girlfriend did amazing job and our feast was DELICIOUS. Turkey, green bean casserole, mashed potatoes with scallions, collard greens with bacon, and pie for dessert. We took a mid-afternoon nap and decided that we should do something. So we went to the movies to see Fantastic Beasts: Crimes of Grindelwald. Came home, had more food, and then went to sleep. DAY FOUR - 11/23/18 Had a late brunch with the brother's girlfriend and then we hit up a couple of vintage shops before coming back to the apartment. Found a parking spot near the subway, and then got dicked over by the city because the metro card I had just put money in 2 days before was apparently 'damaged'. Headed into the city and came out at Bryant Park where they had a Christmas mart and skating rink set up. BTW, the temps that day were in the 30's. ...

(me, knowing I'm about to freeze my ass off) Day two in NYC. We got an early start on the day, and the first on our list to do was one that I told my brother was a must: Andy Warhol at the Whitney . (look at this building, so pretty!) Before we saw Warhol, they had a programming exhibit my brother wanted to see which was actually really cool. Then it was onto Warhol. Guys, if you happen to be in NYC or are going to NYC soon and love Warhol, you need to check it out. It's a large collection that is curated extremely well and just...the Whitney was the perfect place for it. Also, if you go you have to go out on the balcony and take in the gorgeous views of the pier and the city. While having Dos Caminos for lunch, we made the decision not to do the Macy's parade because it was going to be 20F the next day. Instead, we decided to instead head uptown and see the balloons being blown up that night. We headed up that way, and walked a big...

It's been a hot minute, so let's recap my lovely Thanksgiving trip to see my brother: DAY ONE (Nov. 20th) Up at the ungodly hour of 3:30am to get ready and be at the airport by 5am. Was doped up on a ton of antihistamines and cold medicine, and once I got through security I made a beeline for Starbucks and a medicine ball and some breakfast.  Thank God it worked, because once we were in the air I was out like a damn light. It was that weird kind of airplane sleep, where I am sleeping by I know that I'm listening to a podcast too? Either way, I slept for about two hours with little coughing or stuffiness. The ears hurt a bit, but much better than the day before. Also, when did I become so nonchalant about flying? Flying used to scare the bejesus out of me. My first plane trip was to London when I was 15, and they had to knock my ass out with Dramamine because I was about to cause a scene. Now: I love it. So weird. Anyway, here's a pretty picture of some clou...
