lovers that bless the dark on benches in Central Park (NYC Pt. 2)

(me, knowing I'm about to freeze my ass off)

Day two in NYC. We got an early start on the day, and the first on our list to do was one that I told my brother was a must: Andy Warhol at the Whitney.

(look at this building, so pretty!)

Before we saw Warhol, they had a programming exhibit my brother wanted to see which was actually really cool. Then it was onto Warhol. Guys, if you happen to be in NYC or are going to NYC soon and love Warhol, you need to check it out. It's a large collection that is curated extremely well and just...the Whitney was the perfect place for it. Also, if you go you have to go out on the balcony and take in the gorgeous views of the pier and the city.

While having Dos Caminos for lunch, we made the decision not to do the Macy's parade because it was going to be 20F the next day. Instead, we decided to instead head uptown and see the balloons being blown up that night. We headed up that way, and walked a big section of the Highline starting outside Chelsea Market. I really found it a much faster way to travel than on the street. Bonus: you get to peek into some really fancy apartments and see lots of cool street art/views along the way. On another side note, after walking through the Chelsea Market, I want to spend one day in there and do nothing but eat.

We started heading East, and picked up coffee twice (one Spanish Latte at a shop I can't remember, than again at Dean & Deluca's) to warm up before crossing through Times Square. It always shocks me just how many people are always there. Just so bright and beautiful, but I always wonder how people can manage to live in that area. Still, it makes me smile and have my own 'you're gonna make it after all' moment every.single.time

Finally we ended up in the queue for the balloons. It was actually, really fun. The only downside was that the balloons had the nets over them, and a few of them were hard to figure out what some of them were. But still, you were able to get up really close. However, because people were moving fast, it was hard to get a lot of pictures. Also, I just really wanted to kind of enjoy the moment so I stopped trying for photos. Worth it.

After grabbing some food and hitting up a Sephora, we took a taxi back to Brooklyn. In total, we walked a total of 23K+ steps, and we were definitely ready to be warm and go to bed. But not before having some pie and tea.

Ok, so next time will cover Thanksgiving Day & Friday 11/23. Right now I'm enjoying my Sunday before our last full week of school. The kids are back to being awful and causing me undo stress. But in good news I'm completely done with my ELL class and I am dying to start Winter Break. So until next time kids, later days.
