dreamers with empty hands may sigh for exotic lands (NYC PT. 3)

DAY THREE - THANKSGIVING

This was the chillest day out of my entire trip. We woke up in time to watch the parade and started making dinner. My brother and his girlfriend did amazing job and our feast was DELICIOUS. Turkey, green bean casserole, mashed potatoes with scallions, collard greens with bacon, and pie for dessert. We took a mid-afternoon nap and decided that we should do something. So we went to the movies to see Fantastic Beasts: Crimes of Grindelwald. Came home, had more food, and then went to sleep.

DAY FOUR - 11/23/18

Had a late brunch with the brother's girlfriend and then we hit up a couple of vintage shops before coming back to the apartment. Found a parking spot near the subway, and then got dicked over by the city because the metro card I had just put money in 2 days before was apparently 'damaged'. Headed into the city and came out at Bryant Park where they had a Christmas mart and skating rink set up. BTW, the temps that day were in the 30's.

(The fountain at Bryant Park frozen the fuck over)

The next stop on our outing was the New York Public Library. We didn't get to play Ghostbusters in the basement, but we did a walk-through and enjoyed the beauty of that building. Also, navigating through SO MANY PEOPLE.

After the library, we walked a few blocks to see Grand Central Station. I try not to be that person when I travel that openly gawks and exclaims 'omg' out loud, but y'all.....I was not prepared. Nothing prepared me for just how beautiful it was inside. We found a tiny bar inside and enjoyed some delicious cocktails and a cheese board before heading out to Rockefeller Center.

(none of my pictures did this place justice)

We walked around Rockefeller Center which had the Christmas Tree up, but it hadn't been decorated yet. We did however enjoy the light display from Saks and seeing all the pretty holiday decorations.

We hoofed it to Times Square because we had tickets to see a show. We went to see Head Over Heels which was AMAZING. Seriously, a jukebox musical featuring the Go-Go's? Sign me the hell up. The show was fabulous and afterwards we found an awesome Dim Sum place where we ate most of the menu before taking our tired, frozen asses back to Brooklyn.

One more part coming up. Hopefully will be up before Jan. 1st. Not much else going on in my life. I'm on Winter Break, and my work life has officially become a shit-show. Our secretary AND vice principal BOTH quit before the semester was up. There will be a mass exodus at the end of the year, and I may very well be part of it. But for now, I'm going to go do some cleaning and then maybe a nap. Later days.
