kiss me at midnight (pt. 2)
Oh the holidays....which really didn't happen at my house.
First up: Christmas. Yeah, everyone in my house was freaking sick. My parents gave me cash, and I shopped for them on the 24th. Christmas Eve was spent wrapping said presents, watching some Christmas movies (The Muppet's Christmas Carol & Elf) and making some cookies seeing as I didn't get a chance to bake ANYTHING else this year. It was a nice and cozy evening, good times were had.
On Christmas Day I got to sleep in because we weren't going anywhere (due to aforementioned illness), and after having the best breakfast on the planet (tamales & scrambled eggs) and watching my parents open their gifts, I proceeded to have the laziest day ever. On the TV: Christmas episodes of South Park. On my phone: I managed to finish 'Just Kids' by Patti Smith in one day. I also napped a ton, it was exactly what my sick ass needed.
Last up for the holiday season was NYE. Shana and I already had a room downtown and we hit up the Crescent Block Party. I liked it, at the Van Buren they had disco which I personally loved, although I wished the DJ had completed the 'how to transition between songs' part of his training. We also hung outside where they were blasting EDM, which I am going to be completely honest, I don't get it. At all. But the people watching was excellent, I got to dance my ass off a bit, however we headed back to the room once we saw bitches walking around with no shoes on. No......no.
January 1st was spent having brunch with Shana and Kai, followed by coming home and almost immediately falling asleep. That has also been the theme of this week because my body has been EXHAUSTED from 3 sinus infections in 5ish weeks.
